"Evi is a newborn Artificial Intelligence (AI) who is taking her first steps into the world. She has a thirst for knowledge and for sharing that knowledge with everyone. You can speak to Evi and ask her questions via her app which is available for iPhone and Android." - Evi Website

Sounds pretty cool, doesn't it? And from the reviews it's been getting, it seems Evi really does work as well as it claims to.

With Evi, you can input information in the form of text or speech which already takes it a step ahead of Siri, in that, you can literally use it anywhere without fear of looking silly. However, Evi is more of a search engine than a personal assistant, so it can't do things like reading your texts out for you or making appointments in your calendar etc.

But Evi learns more as you ask it more questions and - best of all - it can understand most accents and dialects, so if you don't speak with a perfect "American accent" you won't have to worry any more.

Evi is part of the True Knowledge family - for those of you who are unfamiliar with the True Knowledge website, they are basically a very clever version of Google.

Evi is currently £0.69 in the UK iTunes store and free on the Android Market.
