The Galaxy Player 3.6 is essentially Samsung's answer to Apple's iPod Touch. The design looks strikingly similar to the "Galaxy" series phones and comes with 3.65-inch, multi-touch display.

Here's a run-down of the specifications:
  • Runs Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread)
  • Allows you to make/receive calls and send texts via Bluetooth (3.0)
  • Comes with 8 GB of storage which can be expanded up to 32 GB (microSD card)
  • 1 GHz processor
  • Has a 2 MP rear-facing camera (as well as a slightly poorer quality front-facing camera)
  • Also allows you to view various different file types

The added features of being able to send texts, call people and also expand the storage, may take the Galaxy Player a stage ahead of the iPod. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.

Samsung have announced that they have started production of their new, ultra-fast microSD cards which they are calling "Ultra High Speed-1 microSD cards". These are designed with smartphones, tablets and digital cameras in mind and can transfer information at 80 Mbps - this is 4 times faster than any other microSD card currently available.

These new cards come with 16 GB of storage and are built with the company's toggle DDR (Double Data Rate) 2.0 NAND flash chips.

Samsung have not yet announced a release date for these, but we'll keep you posted.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is huge - it's a 5.3-inch "phablet" - but it seems to be the perfect size for an elephant to use.

Samsung's Galaxy S3 is set to make an appearance on the market sometime in May, and from what we've heard, it might just take the title for "world's thinnest phone" at just 7 mm in depth.

To compare; Motorola's Razr is 7.1 mm in depth and Apple's iPod 4G is 7.2 mm!

The S3 is also rumored to have a 4.6" display and an astonishing 12 MP back facing camera with auto-focus and flash. The front facing camera (in comparison) is a mere 2 MP but will be great for video chats. The back facing camera will also be able to shoot video in full 1080p HD.

As for storage, the phone will come with either 16 or 32 GB of internal storage.

If you want to get a little more technical, the S3 is equipped with 2 GB of RAM (great for multi-tasking!) and a 1.8 GHz processor with dual-core chipset.
